Equaly is a Belgian biotechnology startup working to harness the innate immune system against immunological disorders. By specifically modulating the innate immune system, without the risk of off-target effects, Equaly aims to pioneer novel, cost-effective therapeutic approaches to cure immunological diseases instead of simply alleviating their symptoms.
We interviewed Equaly Project Director Dr. Chunyan Gu-Trantien, and Lab Technician Lucie Kapler.
Choosing Labguru
Lucie did most of the research and recommended two or three different laboratory management systems to her team. After talking to representatives from each one and doing a trial with Labguru and one other system, Labguru was the clear winner. Documentation and sample management
Equaly scientists were thrilled to find that Labguru saves previous versions of altered experiments, increasing traceability. Moreover, Labguru allows researchers to upload different file formats and then edit the files directly as their experiments progress, enabling the Equaly team to record everything in real time. Labguru’s storage features have also transformed Equaly’s sample management. The precise location of every sample recorded in Labguru, enabling researchers to find samples and organize their collections in various ways.

Experiment scheduling
The Equaly team confesses to a complete dependency on Labguru’s calendar. Scientists schedule experiments on the Labguru calendar for a holistic view of the lab’s research and use personal Labguru calendars to manage smaller tasks. All equipment maintenance is managed on the calendar, as well.
